FNTKS

Pronounced ‘phonetics’ technical design agency

001

You don’t need to hire a full in-house team. FNTKS operates as your fractional technical design team — patternmaking, tech packs, CLO 3D and factory liaison, on demand, without the overhead of building it in-house.

Who we
are

001

FNTKS is a technical design agency built around one idea - your vision matters, and it deserves to be executed accurately. That's why we operate as your fractional technical design team: patternmaking, tech packs, CLO 3D and factory liaison, embedded in your process without the overhead of a full in-house team.

Construction. Clarity. Scale.
002

We plug in as your technical design department - as much or as little as each brief needs - handling patternmaking, technical documentation, and factory liaison from concept through production.

003

Led by a technical designer and patternmaker with a background across major fashion houses, FNTKS brings heritage-level technical standards to brands who are just getting started - without the cost of building an in-house team.

004

You focus on the brand. We handle sourcing the specs, tracking production, and solving problems before they become revisions - so you get ship-ready results without juggling everything yourself.

Services

Six disciplines · 01—06

One executable document: BOM, construction detail, POM and grading a factory can build from without guessing.

A tech pack is the contract between an idea and a production line. Every callout is written so a factory reading it cold builds the garment you drew — no interpretation, no email chains, no sampling roulette.

  • Bill of materials with supplier references
  • Construction pages with stitch and SPI callouts
  • Points of measure and full size run grading
  • Trim, label and packaging spec
Open discipline →

Flat pattern development and grading, built from draping and tuned for repeatable production.

Patterns are engineered, not traced. Blocks are drafted or draped to your fit intent, corrected against real construction physics, then graded for a run that behaves the same in every size.

  • First pattern and corrected sample pattern
  • Nested grade across the size run
  • Marker-ready DXF/AAMA export
  • Fit correction notes per sample round
Open discipline →

Virtual fit and photoreal samples that cut physical iterations before the fabric is even touched.

Digital sampling moves fit decisions upstream. Patterns are simulated on an avatar in the real fabric's physical properties, so drape, stress and tension are visible before a single metre is cut.

  • 3D garment simulation on a sized avatar
  • Stress, strain and fit map readouts
  • Photoreal colourway renders
  • Turntable and flat-lay exports
Open discipline →

Creative and technical direction across a range, from concept through to production-ready line.

Direction that carries technical weight: silhouette, fabric and construction decided together, so the range stays coherent and buildable from first concept to final line list.

  • Range architecture and line plan
  • Silhouette and fabric direction
  • Construction language across the collection
  • Concept-to-production review gates
Open discipline →

Direct communication through sampling and pre-production, keeping construction intent intact to the last stitch.

Someone technical on your side of the conversation. Sample comments, corrections and approvals go to the factory in their language, with the construction intent protected the whole way through.

  • Sample comment sheets per round
  • Direct factory correspondence
  • Pre-production and PP sample sign-off
  • Production risk flags and timeline tracking
Open discipline →

Flats, orthographic CADs and callouts carrying every construction decision.

Drawings that function as instructions. Proportional flats, orthographic views and exploded details that carry construction information a factory can build from and a buyer can read.

  • Front, back and side orthographic flats
  • Exploded construction details
  • Callout and annotation layers
  • Colourway and print placement flats

Discovery Call

Understand your brand, product, and construction goals before any technical work begins.

02

Construction Audit

Reverse-engineer references, map construction logic, identify what the build actually requires.

03

Tech Pack / CLO Build

Full technical documentation and/or 3D digital sampling, iterated until factory-ready.

04

Factory Handoff & QC

Direct factory liaison through sampling and production, quality gates at every stage.
